Changing the game in construction
Discover how Kerb Line UK revolutionises road and car park constructions with our advanced extrusion technology. Our system not only speeds up the installation process by tenfold but also ensures precision and cost efficiency, streamlining your project from start to finish.
Our Six Stage Process Explained
Step 01: Setting Out and Preparation
- Subbase Preparation: Begin with meticulous subbase preparation to ensure a level and stable foundation. Our kerb machine operates best when the stone level is graded 365mm down in the channel line from the top of the tape on the kerbline pins. This grading should be done with a former or spirit level and must cover a width of at least 1750mm from the pins.
- Kerbline Pins Placement: Place 16 mm diameter, 800 mm long pins, pointed at one end and cropped at the other, set 700 mm behind the kerb face. Placement frequency varies: 5 m intervals on straight runs, 1 m on radiuses, and 2 m on curvy roads. The top of the tape around the pin should coincide with 65mm above the finished road basecourse level.
Step 02: Machinery Setup
- Delivering the Machinery: Our logistics network efficiently handles the delivery of our kerbing machinery directly to your site, ensuring it arrives safely and on time.
- Machine Calibration: Before operation begins, our technicians calibrate the machine according to the specific conditions of your site, adjusting for any variances in terrain or project requirements.
Step 03: Operating the Kerb Machine
- Loading the Extruder: The extruder hopper is loaded with a specially formulated concrete mix, typically a P320 10L with 60% fines, prepared to achieve the perfect consistency for extrusion.
- Extrusion Process: The machine lays down the kerb seamlessly, capable of forming up to 600 meters per day, including adjustments for radiuses and unique project specifications.
- Adjustments and Customisations: During the extrusion, modifications like removing the upstand or rear slots can be made instantly without incurring additional costs. Metal hoops required by local authorities are also installed during this phase by our operatives at no extra charge.
Step 04: Manholes and Gullies Integration
- Pre-installation Checks: Ensure that all manholes and gullies are aligned with the trimmed sub-base and covered or ramped to prevent interference with the kerb installation.
- Protective Measures: Manholes and gullies must be adequately protected to withstand the traffic of concrete lorries over them, maintaining the integrity of the site and safety of the installation.
Step 05: Post-Installation Review and Cleanup
- Quality Checks: After installation, our team conducts thorough quality checks to confirm that the kerb meets all specifications and quality standards.
- Cleaning and Machine Maintenance: The kerb machine is cleaned using a jet wash provided on site. Regular maintenance is performed to ensure it remains in optimal operating condition.
Step 06: Pricing and Scheduling
- Cost Overview: Pricing is structured competitively, with costs varying based on the length of the kerb installed. Projects over 400 meters are priced at £6.00 per meter, and under 400 meters at £7.00 per meter, with a minimum charge of £2,100.00.
- Booking Process: Contact us to schedule our machinery and team. Our process is straightforward, with a typical lead time discussed during the consultation phase.
